ReplyDeleteI ran quickly up to my new mate and meowed his name in pride. He was my mate but i wasn't ready for kits yet. I would mentor an apprentice first and then, with that experience, do my best for the new kits that would be my pride and joy. But not yet. Nettleclaw looked at me happily, knowing what our future would be. He was happy and I was happy. We intwined our tails together and purred in harmony with each other. Nettleclaw whispered in my ear something that made me shiver in feeling. "Our kits will be amazing Moontail. You with your fast acting skills." "And you with your strong loyalty." I finished. I watched Leafwing and Greyflight sitting together and me and Nettleclaw went over to join them. "You two are perfect for each other Moontail." Leafwing said proudly. "I know." I purred.
ReplyDelete"NETTLECLAW!! NETTLECLAW!!" I heard my new clanmates yowl. But one meow caught my attention the most. Moontail. My beautiful, intelligent, mate. It was moonhigh so her silvery pelt shone like starlight. Her shimmering eyes caught my gaze and she looked shyly away. When the ceremony ended everyone went back to their duties or dens except for me and Moontail. "Our kits will be amazing Moontail. They will be like you with your quick thinking..." "And you with your strong loyalty." She finished. We walked over to Leafwing and Greyflight and began sharing tounges with them. Leafwing and Moontail gossiped with each other while Greyflight and I talked about hoqw the apprentices were doing even though they weren't ours. Me and Greyflight barely new each other but we were beginning to get along quite well. It began to get late so we went to the warriros den to take a nap. Me and Moontail looked over at the nursery den and then at each other as we ooked forward to the future. But for the first time ever I saw Moontail a flicker of uncertainty cross her face. I turned my head to see what she was staring at and saw the oldest of the apprentices - Volepaw - seething with unhidden rage at the sight of us together. I wrapped my tail protectively around Moontail and returned the glare.
