Snowpetal walked toward Leaffoot and Pinenose. Where was Earthfur? She thought. At the same Leaffoot said "Where is Ocean Clan?" "I don't know." Snowpetal replied. "Quiet! The Leaders are starting!" Pinenose said.
ReplyDeleteGreyfeather leaped into the clearing. He looked around for Ravenclaw. When he saw Ravenclaw he hurried over. "Have you seen Ocean Clan?" Ravenclaw asked. "No." Greyfeather usually sits with Ravenclaw, Swift Clan's Deputy, and Rockfall, Ocean Clan's Deputy, but there was no sigh of Ocean Clan anywhere!
ReplyDeleteLeafpaw followed Scarletfoot into the clearing. WOAH! She hadn't expected so many cats! Scarletfoot padded toward Spiral Tree. Scarletfoot started talking to another cat. "Where is Ocean Cnan? she asked. There are more? Leafpaw thought!!She saw Amberstar on Spiral Tree talking to two other cats.If only 3 out of 4 clans are here, she thought, where is the 4th one?
ReplyDeleteMoonpaw bounced into the clearing. MY FIRST GATHERING!!! Moonpaw looked around and saw that Snowpetal, Greyfeather and Leafpaw looked worried. Should i be worried too? And if i should...why? "LEAFPAW! WHATS WRONG!!" I asked.
ReplyDeleteFinally, Fernstar announced what happened. "Oceanclan has left the four clans." A chorus of gasps erupted from the clearing. I silenced them with the flick my tail. "Oceanclan will not be with us for several moons. A long journey is ahead of them." I felt every cat tense at my words. "But they WILL be back, hopefully with good news that we can move to a new home." More gasps. Fernstar then explained more. "There has been insufficient food for every clan except Silverclan, for they have a river and lots of foliage." I spoke up. "I have agreed to travel to this new home if there is one. If Oceanclan does not find a new home, Silverclan-" Birdstar interrupted. "Will give us each a third of their prey." Angry hisses arose from the Silverclan cats below. I remained calm. "Birdstar, if we give away one third of our food to three clans, Silverclan will be left with nothing." "Then Birdstar snarled and said "Of course! No food is what you deserve." I saw Scarletfoot and Greyfeather bristle, and knew I had to hold on to patience or a fight would break out. "I'm sorry, Birdstar. We will only give enough so every clan has the same amount of prey. Anyway, Oceanclan might not even fnd a place." Birdstar scoffed at that. "You're kidding, right? Oceanclan only went to get rid of you kittypet clan!" Surprisingly, all the cats in the clearing were silent, except for a small whisper from Leafpaw to Moonpaw "Does it always happen this way?"

ReplyDelete"BIRDSTAR, IS YOUR BRAIN JUST A BIG BALL OF FLUFF, OR ARE YOU GOING TO BE FAIR?!!?" Everyone was stunned. Birdstar lunged, but was stopped by the swift foot of Fernstar. "STOP THIS RIGHT NOW!!!!"
Birdstar slunked back to his branch. "Poor moonpaw..." I whispered. It was her first gathering, and she probably wouldn't want to return. Birdstar bounded Off the branch where he stood and led his clan away calling "I WILL GET YOU SOMEDAY, AMBERSTAR!! I WILL!" "Just like another Tigerstar" I muttered to my Mapleclan friend Yellowfur. Then we headed back to camp, and went to bed. I was worn out.
I looked around shocked at what just happened. Birdstar had THREATENED Amberstar!!!! Anyway, why did Birdstar think we were going to share our prey? Our clan is biggest and Leafbare was coming! I felt do bad for the apprentices. For most of them, it was their first gathering. They probably think that gatherings always happened that way and Star Clan had no control. Beside me I heard Pinenose hiss. "Great Star Clan! Why don't they do anything about it!?!?" As Leaffoot walked away, she whispered to us "I'm SO sorry!!!"
ReplyDelete"LEAFPAW WHAT'S WRONG?" I heard. I turned around and saw Moonpaw behind me. "Ocean Clan is gone!!" I said back. "SHHHHHH! THE GATHERING IS STARTING!!" a cat said behind me. I turned my head and looked at Spiral Tree. I heard Fernstar say "Oceanclan has left the four clans." I gasped in surprise. Then Amberstar told us that Everyone had a shortage of food and we might need to move terratories. I was ok with that untill Birdatar said that we will give a third of our food to the 3 other clans. How stupid! EVERYONE knows thet if you give a third of the food to 3 clans Silve Clan will be left with nothing! That is exactly what Amberstar said. Then Birdstar freaked out! I was accually SCARED!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat?! OceanClan gone? I had heard nursery tales about them.I JUST WANT TO GO HOME!!!! I wailed to myself. Is THIS what a gathering is like all the time??? If so I never want to go to one again!!!! I tried to block out the angry rage from Birdstar. And who was this Tigerstar that Moonfur was talking about?? I looked up at the leaders and tried not to show how scared I was. I didnt want the other 2 clans to think Silverclan was weak. But as the gathering went on I kept edging further away from the rest of the cats in the clearing and felt my tail twitch with the thought of running for home...
ReplyDeleteI silently watched Moonpaw edge to the edge of the clearing. I felt so bad! I walked over to her. "It isn't always this way. Birdstar was being totally unfair. She should know that 1/3 of prey to 3 clans it means that we would have no prey. Amberstar had a right to be angry!"
ReplyDeleteMoonpaw looked up at Snowpetal. "I dont care." I answered bluntly. "I just want to go home!!!" Moonpaw pelted out of the clearing back to the camp...
